Here’s a little bit of info about me and my process. I love to morph vintage engravings with digital graphics and photographs to illustrate my interpretation of the world around us. I source these from many different places, including old engraving books I’ve accumulated over the years to lucky finds from the charity shop. I get the artwork printed onto canvas and then work into them with acrylic paint, different mediums, glitter, ink, whatever I think will work to give me the look I’m after.

I sift through hundreds and thousands of photographs from stock resources to find the right model and other elements for my artwork, The characters I choose to use are ones that I feel drawn to, they exude a really cool attitude, like someone you’d love to meet down the pub. I love taking all these found images from one context and completely changing them and creating my own world.

I hope the work will inspire the viewer to look and look again by building narrative through layers and encouraging them to gain a different perspective each time. The use of strong characters and compact surreal landscapes populate my artwork alongside a vivid colour palette to obscure the work’s hidden meanings. I generally start with the characters and have a rough idea of direction, but on most occasions it develops fluidly.
